At the Islamic Center of South Florida, our goal has always been to raise children who are grounded in their faith, strong in their character, and confident in who they are. What was once our Saturday School has now grown into two dedicated programs — Tarbiya Academy for younger children and the Junior Youth Program for pre-teens. Each nurtures the whole child: a mind rooted in Quran, Arabic, and Islamic Studies; a body kept active through organized, supervised sport; and a family that learns and grows together.

The Word of Allah
At the heart of everything your child learns. Students learn to recite with beauty and precision, to understand the words they are reading, and to see the Quran not as a subject to complete but as a living guide they will carry for the rest of their lives.
Where Character Takes Shape
Through belief, the life of the Prophet ﷺ and the manners and morals of Islam, children learn not only what Muslims believe but how to live it — honest, kind, responsible, and confident in their identity in a world that constantly pulls at them. It gives them a moral compass for life.
The Language of the Quran
Arabic gives your child direct access to the words of Allah, so the Quran can speak in its own voice rather than only through translation. In Tarbiya Academy, this begins with a strong foundation in reading — the literacy that unlocks the Quran and Islamic learning for years to come.

Tarbiya Academy
This is where the foundation is laid. Young children take their first real steps in Quran, Islamic Studies, and Arabic — including the strong reading foundation that Arabic literacy provides — in a warm, engaging environment that makes learning something they look forward to.
Junior Youth
For pre-teens, how they learn matters as much as what they learn. Junior Youth leans into creative, discussion-based learning — where young people ask real questions, explore real answers, and connect their faith to daily life — supported by mentors who guide, listen, and model what it means to grow into a confident young Muslim.
Quran Hifdh
Hifdh is far more than memorization. It is about helping your child build an intimate, lasting relationship with the word of Allah — to internalize it, live with it, and truly love it. As they commit the Quran to heart, they also learn its meanings and how it speaks to their own lives, so what they memorize becomes something they understand and carry.
For students who can read from the Mushaf independently.
Can be taken on its own for families focusing only on Hifdh — or combined with Tarbiya Academy or Junior Youth for a complete experience.
Friday Family Night
An evening for the whole family
Friday isn’t only for the students. While your children are in class, parents are welcomed to a Family Night with a provided dinner and a short talk on raising children in today’s world — given by the Imam and, at times, invited guest speakers who bring added expertise to support parents — followed by time to relax and connect with other families.
The talk is kept brief on purpose, so the evening stays warm and social rather than formal.
The Imam also offers a monthly talk for parents on Sundays while students are in class — another opportunity for guidance and community.
